Today I was offered an internship with Global Explorers! I am very excited. I hope to move to Fort Collins, Colorado in July, as internship training begins in August. I'll be assisting with the Leading the Way program, which is a unique and fascinating program that offers trips designed for students who are blind, visually impaired, and sighted. There is also a trip this summer designed especially for students who are deaf and hearing impaired, in addition to hearing students. As much as the trips exist to facilitate leadership development, cross-cultural exchange, service learning, and education on biodiversity, they exist to break down barriers and misconceptions about people with disabilities.
